Web 2.0 for Developers

Web 2.0 has come with a host of technological developments; web developers are now required to develop more interactive web sites, with added focus on end user experience.

Earlier in the days of web 1.0, web developers just had to add content to the pages, publish the pages to the web server and monitor the web sites. Updates to the web site were done only by the author and others were just spectators to the page, developers designed admin sections in the sites, which were used by the authors and administrator to manage the content of the web sites.

Web 2.0 has changes this completely, sites based on web 2.0 are more interactive, they should be developed in such a way that the end users interact more with the publisher and other users. End users should be allowed to post comments on the content, edit the content, publish their own content, change the design and layout of the pages, etc.

Yes, looks like the developers have to do a lot more to make the web sites web 2.0 compliant, but they are not left alone, technology has lent a helping hand to the developers in developing web 2.0 compliant web pages.
